Loft and Condos in the New World

Commercial and Industrial buildings nowadays are being converted into lofts. It is now a trend in unconventional housing in other parts of the world.

Lofts are defined as the upper portion of a building, factory or warehouse, particularly commercial or industrial buildings. Normally it has a high ceiling and minimal or no interior walls. The windows are large and air are circulated evenly all throughout the area.

There are lofts that are converted from an existing building and there are made from ground up. These lofts typically have the same characteristics.

Historically, it was first adapted in the United States and spread on different parts of Asia and Europe. Time came when old warehouses, factories, industrial and commercial buildings change business or were bankrupt and were closed and realtors decided to convert these spaces into reusable accommodation for people.

Good examples are the Toronto Condos and Toronto Lofts that are common on some districts and neighborhood. There are lofts that are converted into apartment and condominiums. Facilities and services are the same as living in a conventional apartment or condominium.

Toronto Loft and Toronto Condo are identical in lofts and condos in the United States in terms of area and how it is leased. It is just up to the owner on how he or she will design the area.

The huge windows give a good eye view of the metro and provide enough sunlight to illuminate the entire floor. It natural provides light across the room and gives character whichever design or theme you put on it.

The ceiling, like the huge windows provide good air circulation. Combined with little or no interior wall division provide additional space and exudes the feeling that the floor is bigger than it seems.

Majority of the lofts are hard lofts meaning, those were converted from an existing factory or warehouse. The vicinity of these lofts is still in an industrial-type of neighborhood. These lofts have a strong sense of uniqueness than soft lofts because of the hard lofts being traditional loft than the soft ones, which are like a hybrid of an apartment or condominium.

Soft lofts sometimes replace concrete flooring to wood and also on the beams. It is more similar to the condominium that we all know than with lofts.

Lofts are really popular because of being versatile to styles and emerging trends in cosmopolitan living. Some use it as a studio and as an office space as well.
